Britney files for divorce from K-Fed

Citing "irreconcilable differences," Britney Spears filed for divorce from her husband of two and a half years, Kevin Federline. The couple just recently brought home their second child together, a boy that is rumored to be named Jaden James though neither Spears nor Federline has confirmed that.

This breakup comes as somewhat of a surprise to some. As far as celebrity couples go, they appeared to be among the happier with very few public arguments, spats, or incidents of any kind. The relationship had been a tabloid regular, mostly due to Federline's party-boy antics. It didn't help that the couple filmed their own reality TV show, "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic," which ended up ddepicting him as a bum that was living the good life on his rich wife's dime and her as a clumsy, if not unfit, mother who had lost the figure and pop-star appeal that had made her famous. Spears has not released an album of new material since 2003's In The Zone (though there has been a greatest hits album and a remix album since then). Federline, on the other hand, has been busy making music as of late, as an aspiring rapper. His debut album, Playing with Fire, was released just last week.

Spears has appeared publicly since the breakup, not looking too distressed as she took to the ice at New York's Rockefeller Center's skating rink just hours after filing the divorce papers.
